Greg & Patty Standridge

“Hi,” I am Greg Standridge with my lovely wife, Patty.  Let me share about ourselves and our years in ministry and how we ended up at New Life Assembly.

I have lived in Lawrence County all of my life and graduated from Lawrence Co. High School in 1973.  Patty graduated from Tanner High School in 1975.  We have a daughter, Christi and ason Wesley, both graduated from East Lawrence High School.

Patty and I married in June, 1984.  She and I have always been active in church.  (This does not include some ofmy younger days).  My home church is Oak Grove F.C.M. Church where I was serving as a deacon when Patty and I married.   The Lord began dealing with us about preaching his word and after totally surrendering; I preached my first message in May of 1989.  In January of1990, we started pasturing our first church, Fairview F.C.M. Church in Loretto,Tennessee.  We served there for 2yrs. 8mos.  Then beginning September, 1992, we pastored Piney Grove F.C.M. Church for 3 years.  Beginning September of 1995, we started as pastor of Caddo Congregational Christian Church for 10 years.  In October of 2005, the Lord released us from pasturing congregational churches. During these years we built relationships with some wonderful people that will last forever.  I had been seeking the Lord awhile for direction on what to do.  Patty told me that whatever I chose that she would support me.  We needed to get away for a time of refreshing and where we could hear from God.  The Lord allowed us to go to Faith Church in Florence on Sunday’s and Calvary Assembly on Wednesday nights.  This was great and we really enjoyed it.

Then the time came when the Lord begin to deal with us about getting connected close to home and get more involved.  I thought several times it would be Calvary Assembly, but that wasn’t what the Lord had for us.  I knew that New Life was an Assembly of God Church, only 10 minutes from home, and we knew some good people that attended, so we decided to visit.  On Easter Sunday of 2008 was our first visit to New Life. After the service, Patty, Wes, and I talked and all agreed this is it.  We’ll come back.  After a couple of months, we became members.  We joined with the heart of aservant, not looking for a position or a title but just to love God and love people.  As things began to shift and changes began to take place, I became a member of the board, then later associate pastor and now at the present, I’m serving as interim pastor.  What is good about serving in the Assemblies is that the Presbyters over our district help guide us in leading the church.  Pastor George Sawyer (the Presbyter in our district) has been a big help and encouragement.  At this time, I am taking courses that are required through Global University.  These studies are very enlightening.  God is blessing and good things are happening at New Life Assembly.  We would love to have you so come and visit when you can.  Thanks for visiting our website; I hope that it has blessed you.

                                                                               Yours in Christ,

                                                                                Pastor Greg

Stewardship Resources

  • Should We Give?
Although the topic has been abused by some in the name of religion, the Bible is very clear about giving of our resources to support the ministries that regularly contribute to our journey.
